The Latham GXS and GXA Surface-Line Series floor expansion joint covers are available with stainless steel and aluminium cover plates. The series is designed to be installed into a minimal recess, or providing the joint width is 62mm or larger, the system can simply hang over the edge of the slabs and no recess is required, making it ideal for existing or new to existing applications as well as installation on non standard substrates like steel and glass.
These systems are designed to be purely surface mounted. The tapered edge on the side extrusions means that the systems will limit the height difference as pedestrian and small trolleys like shopping carts pass over the joints. When the expansion joint width is 50mm or wider the series can accommodate the Latham Fire Barrier System. During installation, we recommend that these expansion joint covers are fixed mechanically in place with fixings suitable for the application. The use of Latham Titazel Thixotropic Adhesive should also be considered.

The Latham G-25 and G-25A with abrasive inserts Surface-Line Series floor slip joint covers offer 2 directional movement and are specially designed for gymnasium type applications, where the vibration and movement is great. This is accommodated through the Santoprene inserts and the extra depth of the cover plate.
On request, the G-25 can be supplied with 2 x 25mm wide re-surfacable slip resistant inserts installed. The G-25 with the slip resistant inserts applied is the G-25A. The standard slip resistant insert colour is black. Other colours are available on request. The cover plates are rigidly fixed to 1 side of the expansion joint as detailed. Optional factory drilling and fixings are available.
