Floor Expansion Joint Cover (Seismic Movement)

The SGAL(SM) Series expansion joint covers are designed to accommodate normal thermal movement of the day-to-day requirements of the structure while accommodating extreme multidirectional movement during seismic events where the pan can ride up onto the surrounding floor under extreme movement. This movement is achieved using the unique Latham spring tentioned tie bars. The series is for installation with pavers or tiles, however they are suitable for installation with other floor finishes in the pan like carpet, timber, and vinyl.

Materials

• Aluminium 6063-T5 mill finish alloy.

• Grey santoprene inserts (standard), buff and black available on request.

• Lathamflex® spring steel treated centring bar with nylon spherical balls at ~475mm centres.

• Supplied in 3050mm lengths.

Fixings

• Side members factory drilled to accept 8mm countersunk head fixings at ~400mm centres.

• The stone or tile must be fixed with a suitable fill.
