Floor‑to‑Wall Expansion Joint Cover with Brass Deck

The EXBL Surface-Line Series surface mounted floor-to-wall expansion joint covers carry a brass cover plate and wall member. The series is designed to be fixed directly through the side members, normally in applications where the requirement for a recess has been overlooked. They work particularly well in carpet applications. The detail below shows a 16mm x 20mm recess in the slab, which is only required for joints less than 42mm wide. This effectively increases the width of the structural joint the system will accommodate. They would commonly be used in locations such as shopping centres, hotels, office foyers, schools, airports and other pedestrian traffic situations.

Materials

• Aluminium 6063-T5 mill finish alloy.

• Brass 380 mill finish alloy cover plate.

• Side member supplied in 3050mm lengths. Brass cover plates supplied in 1800mm lengths.

Fixings

• Side member factory drilled to accept 6.5mm countersunk head fixings at ~475mm centres

• Wall member factory drilled to accept 6.5mm countersunk head fixings at ~475mm centres

• We recommend Latham Thixotropic Epoxy Adhesive be used in conjunction for superior securing.
