Building Strong Foundations: An Interview with Tina Salanitri of PASCO Construction Solutions

Latham Australia

Tina Salanitri is the Latham Technical Sales Manager for PASCO Construction Solutions. We recently interviewed Tina as part of our international programme to profile our global distributor network.

About PASCO Construction Solutions

Established in Melbourne in 2005, PASCO Construction Solutions is an Australian-owned company that supplies specialised waterproofing and sealant products to the commercial and residential building sectors. Founded by Peter, Arthur, and Steve, whose initials form the PASCO name, the business was built on decades of industry experience and a shared commitment to high-quality solutions.

PASCO quickly expanded its offering to include exclusive distribution arrangements with premium construction brands, including Buzon, Normet, and Latham Australia. PASCO is the exclusive distributor of Latham’s product range in Victoria. A partnership that has strengthened over time due to the size of the market and the advantage of local representation.

Managing the Latham Product Range in Victoria

As Latham’s dedicated representative in Victoria, Tina Salanitri manages the full spectrum of client engagement, from technical specification through to order fulfilment. Tina works closely with architects, builders, contractors, and installers to ensure that Latham products are correctly selected, specified, and delivered in accordance with project timelines and compliance standards.

“Latham is a well-established brand and is frequently specified in commercial projects,” Tina explains. “We monitor new opportunities through platforms like EstimateOne, follow tenders through the pipeline, and work with contractors to ensure they understand what’s been specified, including quantities, lead times, and installation recommendations.”

This end-to-end process includes technical advisory, tender support, installer recommendations, and product supply logistics.

Common Challenges in Product Specification

One of the challenges faced by PASCO is the limited detail provided at the specification stage. “Often, the drawings will simply note that an expansion joint or stair nosing is required, and reference Latham, but without identifying sizing, quantities, or performance criteria,” says Tina. “That’s where our role becomes critical. We work through the detail with the specifier or contractor, often over the course of many months, to ensure the right product is delivered to site at the right time.”

Maintaining a robust project tracking system is essential to managing long-lead opportunities, with many jobs taking 12 to 18 months from initial specification to installation.

A Longstanding and Trusted Partnership

PASCO and Latham have worked closely together for more than a decade. PASCO maintains a NSW office located within Latham Park in Gladesville, providing a physical link between the two businesses.

According to Tina, the relationship is built on mutual respect, shared priorities, and a common focus on delivering quality outcomes. “Both businesses value product integrity and customer service. It’s not about being the cheapest. It’s about supplying a solution that lasts and represents the architect’s intent.”

Tina manages the full Latham product range for the Victorian market, including stair nosings, tactile indicators, tile edge trims, expansion joint covers, and entry matting systems. “Each product serves a distinct purpose, from accessibility compliance to pedestrian safety and dirt control. And of course, aesthetics. Architects are looking for functionality without compromising on the design.”

Products range from short-run residential jobs to major commercial installations. Recent examples include contributions to Melbourne’s Metro Tunnel, significant infrastructure works at airports, and smaller fit outs for education, healthcare, and retail.

Local Manufacturing Advantage

One of Latham’s key differentiators is its Sydney-based manufacturing facility. Unlike many imported alternatives, Latham products can be custom-made to suit project-specific requirements within a matter of days.

“This is a major selling point. We’re not waiting for stock to arrive on a shipping container. We can typically have locally made, custom solutions dispatched within 7 to 10 days of final confirmation.”

The ability to accommodate non-standard sizing or bespoke design requirements further enhances the value Latham brings to the market.

Proven Quality and Genuine Warranty

From material selection to product assembly, Latham places a premium on quality.

“You can feel the difference in a Latham stair nosing,” says Tina. “Solid brass components, secure silicon carbide inserts, and consistently high manufacturing standards. These aren’t products that will fail under load or wear.”

Latham backs its products with a genuine five-year warranty, which Tina describes as both meaningful and dependable.

“Some competitors offer so-called lifetime warranties, but the fine print often excludes any real responsibility. Latham’s warranty reflects the confidence they have in their manufacturing.”

Service, Responsiveness and Support

According to Tina, Latham’s customer support team is equally impressive.  Sydney Build Expo 2025 (2)-2

“Whether it’s Maria, Zane, or Vish, you always get a quick response. Most quotes are turned around within the hour, and the team is realistic about lead times. They don’t overpromise, and they follow through.” For Tina, the Latham website is also a valuable tool, offering access to specifications, installation guidance, and product data. “It’s well structured, and I use it regularly when assisting clients.”

Training and Continuous Learning

As a relatively new member of the PASCO team, Tina says that product training and ongoing support have been key to building confidence and expertise. Time spent on the Latham stand at Sydney Build Expo, as well as one-on-one training sessions with the Latham team, have accelerated the learning process.

“The best way to learn is to be involved; to field questions, solve problems, and deliver solutions.”

The partnership between PASCO Construction Solutions and Latham Australia is a compelling example of what’s possible when two like-minded businesses collaborate over the long term. Combining manufacturing excellence with responsive local support, the alliance ensures that specifiers, builders, and installers receive the guidance, service, and products they need to deliver exceptional outcomes.
