Latham Tactile Luminance Contrast Calculation Tool

This calculator uses the Bowman–Sapolinski Equation to calculate the Luminance Contrast between the dry Luminance Reflectance Values (LRV) of each Latham Tactile product and a nominated background surface, in line with Appendix B part B4 of AS 1428.1-2021. It is also referred to in part B4 of AS 1428.1-2009 and Appendix E part E3 of AS 1428.4-2009.

Based on the LRV rating of your background flooring/paving as provided by you (LRV 0), for your project, the Latham Tactile products listed below will meet or exceed the applicable Luminance Contrast specifications of AS 1428.1-2021. The numbers next to each product correspond to the luminance contrast achieved.

LTSS, LTBS, LTSSL, LTSSB, LTSSW, LTASB, LTASW, LTSSD require a minimum 45% luminance contrast. LTAS & LTAB coloured infill require a minimum 60% luminance contrast.
