Latham Asbrabronz Solid Brass Full Abrasive Tredlite Illuminated Slip Resistant Safety Stair Tread Nosings combine the durability and premium appearance of solid brass with the latest safe, low-voltage 24V LED lighting technology. The LED system is energy efficient and economical to run. For most applications, all necessary hardware is supplied, including transformers that simply plug into a power point.

The standard Solid Brass FL lighting system is installed to create a fan-light effect over the risers and treads in darkened conditions, providing greater visibility, confidence and safety when negotiating stairs.

For additional decorative impact, the bullnose of the nosing can be supplied with holes to create a distinctive line of light (DEC). When this option is selected, it is recommended that it be specified throughout the entire stairway for a consistent appearance. The holes are approximately 8mm in diameter and positioned at approximately 66mm centres.

Running costs for the LED Tredlite Illuminated Stair Tread Nosing are negligible, making the system both functional and decorative for applications including public buildings, foyers, theatres, clubs, restaurants, grand houses, ships and yachts.

Latham Full Abrasive Standard Tredlite nosings are manufactured from solid brass, providing a premium, durable finish suited to high-quality architectural applications. They are supplied standard in an Asbrabronz solid brass brushed finish, with a polished solid brass bullnose available on request.

Because these systems are highly specialised, each nosing is supplied cut to the required site length with the Tredlite lighting pre-installed. The LED Tredlite bulbs are positioned at approximately 17mm centres, with lighting cut in multiples of 100mm to suit the required length.

As a result, the illuminated section will always be slightly shorter than the overall stair tread nosing. This ensures the plugs and mechanisms remain encapsulated within the solid brass nosing and are not visible.

Latham recommends that the LEDs are wired in parallel, with each LED strip light powered from a main power feed running down one side of the treads where possible.

For simple installation, consider using the purpose-manufactured Latham Step Link Wiring Saddle Connections and Source Feed Wire Connections. Further details can be found on the Tredlite 2 Accessories page on this website.

LED Tredlite Illuminated Stair Tread Nosings are supplied standard with a warm white LED light source. The light source is supplied to suit the required run length of each individual tread.

On request, the LED light insert can also be supplied in bright white, red, blue, green or yellow.

Power consumption is less than 5 watts per metre of LED lighting. We recommend that a maximum of 20 metres of LED lighting is operated from a single transformer. For applications where treads are located significant distances apart, additional transformers may be required.

Although the system is suitable for external applications, Latham recommend it only be used in protected external applications since over time moisture can affect the wiring connections.
