Why the Profile and Infills Matter When Specifying Entrance Mats

Adam Latham

You won’t be surprised to hear it, but not all entrance mats are the same. Even within the broad range of styles available in Latham Australia’s high quality entrance mats, different combinations are recommended for different situations. It pays to be aware of the potential varieties - so that you can always specify the best possible choice.

Latham mats can be made for recessed or surface mounted applications, in any size required, to suit the situation. Both styles can be rolled up for easy cleaning of all the particles and debris that will be captured beneath them. They can be framed in an appropriate metal or rubber border to deliver the safe and long-term solution that you need.

Impressive features at no cost to the level of safety

The product which fills the mat rails and forms the under-foot surface is critical to the effective performance of the mat. Latham entrance mats come in two main surface types. You can specify Latham mats with SupagritTM - a solid-fill, full-depth abrasive surface that maintains its slip resistance in all conditions, year after year, at the same time as it delivers passive cleaning of the soles of shoes. Even in the highest traffic areas, or exposed to the weather at an external doorway, it will go on providing grip under foot to all users.

SupagritTM comes in 12 natural colours as well as a luminescent infill that temporarily glows in the dark after exposure to light.

Alternatively, you can select from Latham’s dirt control mat varieties that use hard wearing commercial-grade carpet that is cut to size and permanently locked in place in the mat. This is even better at keeping shoes clean, but is softer and more suited to internal use – such as inside lobbies, at the entrance to lifts, or set in a recess at the foot of stairs. Lathams’ carpet-filled mats come in a choice of eleven popular colours – to ensure that there is a perfect match with the design choices in the building.

The metal rail used to manufacture your Latham entrance mat will be a standard shape, but it can be finished in a number of colours, once again, to suit the finishes of the building. Your entrance mats will blend in perfectly, because they can be matched, or contrasted, with the rest of the materials in the design.

Specially designed to maintain quality

All Latham entrance mats are manufactured using the same high quality, specially designed neoprene hinge component, which maintains flexibility and prevents the mat slipping. At the same time, it allows all particles and moisture to pass through and be captured beneath the mat, saving cleaning costs, preventing damage and reducing maintenance of the floors throughout the building.

Latham mats will protect the floors and the people who pass across them - which protects the building and its owners.
