Australia, like the rest of the world, is being heavily affected by the rapidly escalating outbreak of the Coronavirus and we feel that it is important to communicate the steps that Latham Australia are taking during this uncertain time.

Safety is our number one priority for employees, customers & suppliers. We are committed to taking the necessary precautions to safeguard our day-to-day activities. 

First and foremost we want to assure you that our services and production are not affected as of the sending of this message. We will continue to operate at the normal levels of production and customer service, while also taking the appropriate, precautionary, internal measures to protect our employees, reps and customers.

Being a manufacturer, we are unable to instigate remote work arrangements for many of our employees. Machinery requires operators and metal fabrication can’t happen in our living rooms. However, there are many things we can do to protect ourselves and others and it is these measures we have now introduced into our work environment. Simple but effective measures such as washing hands properly or using sanitiser prior to, and after, the use of any communal items; keeping our distance from our team members; not sharing phones, pens, keyboards, communicating via email and not person-to-person.

Lathams is an “Australian Made and Owned” company and we take pride in the fact that we manufacture entirely within our headquarters in Sydney Australia. Further our components and raw materials are almost exclusively locally sourced which helps to shield us from any international restrictions on flow of goods.

We hold extensive levels of stock and raw materials and feel that we are in a unique position to continue supplying our local and international markets throughout the emerging and ongoing crisis.

But we can only do this through careful planning and ensuring the health and safety of our staff and distribution channels. We are limiting travel and personal interaction, be it on a one-on-one level or in groups.
